Mr.
Abrams twenty-year career represents a cross
section of experience in real estate development,
acquisition, finance and management on both
a principal and third party basis.
Prior to forming Rockledge
he served as founder and President of Carey
Winston Realty Advisors an asset management
and investment advisory subsidiary of the
largest full service real estate company
in Metropolitan Washington, DC. Over a five year period he oversaw
the acquisition and/or asset management of
more than $200 million in sub-performing
real estate assets located throughout the
United States. Clients included The
Bakers and Confectioners International Union
Pension Fund and Nationsbank and partners
included Cargill Financial Services and Blackacre
Capital.
Previously, Mr. Abrams
served as Executive Vice President of a
family owned real estate development company
and oversaw the completion of more than
one million square feet of office and industrial
projects throughout the region. The
majority of projects focused on a value added
acquisition and development opportunities. Properties
developed over this ten-year period include:
5301 Wisconsin Avenue, One Bethesda Center,
1750 Old Meadow Road and 1901 Research Boulevard
and were financed in joint venture with private
and institutional partners including First
National Bank of Boston and Connecticut Mutual
Insurance.
Mr. Abrams received
his BA in International Studies from the
Johns Hopkins University and a JD from
the Washington College of Law at the American
University. He was
a founding director of Suburban Bank, President-elect
of The Cultural Development Corporation of
DC (CuDC) and past President of the Washington
DC chapter of the Johns Hopkins University
Alumni Association. He is also a founder
of Loosestrife Editions, a publisher of photography
books.
